Hidden Layers

Introduction

Hidden Layers: Uncovering the Historical Women of Graphic Design is a 200-page book dedicated to spotlighting 15 remarkable women whose contributions to graphic design have been overlooked or underrepresented. Through their diverse backgrounds, stories, and groundbreaking work, the book explores the profound and lasting impact they’ve had on the field. To honor their legacy, I employed a CMYK color palette and bitmapped imagery, drawing inspiration from iconic design elements that shaped the history of graphic design itself.

This project was honored in the Utah AIGA 100 Show and published in Graphic Design USA magazine, further cementing its place as a celebration of both history and design.
